Driving in New Zealand with easygo campers

We want you to have the best holiday exploring New Zealand’s landscape and scenic attractions and be safe while doing so.  If you are travelling from overseas on a long flight, we recommend that you adjust to the time difference and get over jetlag by staying in a hotel your first night before you begin your motorhome adventure.  This way you will feel rested to begin your journey the next day.  

We have listed some of New Zealand’s key driving rules to be aware of:

• Drive on the left side of the road
• Don’t turn left on red at an intersection
• Use your indicators for turning since New Zealand has unique give way rules
• Give way to your right in single land roundabouts

General safety tips:

• Take breaks if you start to get tired
• If the roads are wet or slippery make sure you leave about 4 car lengths in between you and the vehicle in front of you
• Turn your headlights on 30 minutes after sunset and 30 minutes before sunrise
