Certified Self-Contained Motorhomes

All of easgo's campervans are made to meet and exceed the New Zealand Standard of Self Containment of Motor Caravans and Caravans (NZS 5465:2001).

What this means is that the campervans must have facilities to contain solid, toilet and grey water waste which results from the daily activities for the approved number of occupants for the campervan. It also must supply the minimum quantity of fresh water for at least three days.

There are certain facilities that the campervan must have in order to meet the New Zealand standard, including a toilet, sanitary fittings such as a hand basin, water supply, and water reticulation. Each campervan must be manufactured to meet with strict conditions, and inspected by an approved testing officer, in order to be certified as self-contained.

Travelling in a self-contained motorhome is the more environmentally responsible option, so we recommend if you are thinking about travelling in New Zealand in a motorhome that you do so in a certified self-contained vehicle. This also has the added benefit of ensuring that certain quality requirements have also been met.
